I just had to let you know what an awesome weekend we had. Your campground is great. Loved the music Saturday night and how clean everything was. The trails were fantastic and we loved how large the camping spots were. We've been to a lot of places where they just sandwich you in right on top of everyone else. We will definitely be back. The scenery there is so amazing. Thanks so much!
Diane White

Outback Ranch is a great place to ride. The trails provide a variety of riding from level to steep. Options were available to by-pass the steepest areas if one wished. The camp site was level and firewood was delivered to our site. The shower was hot and clean. Holly and Jake were great hosts and keep their ranch clean and in good repair. - Mary

Jake, Holly & Family~
We had such a great time this past weekend! Beautiful trails, and accommodations for our horses and campsite. You went above and beyond by helping us with our flat tire on our trailer we appreciated it so much!  Its a beautiful place and we can't wait to come back. We'll spread the word!
Thank you for a wonderful weekend! Kim, Sue & Claudia

“Thanks for the great time we had at your facility”   I loved it! Cindy Jorgenson

We would highly recommend Outback Ranch as a destination for beautiful trails, very well kept grounds, lovely accommodations and friendly, helpful owners!! We had a flat tire on our horse trailer on our way there and needed to find a new one to have a spare for the trip home . Holly was so kind to not only help us find a new tire but offered to pick it up for us so we didn't miss any more time trail riding and enjoying our stay ! If you ever get the chance to stay with them I assure you are in for a real treat!

Jake & Holly,
Thanks so much for a place to stay - clean cozy & full of little touches & nice things for guests (coffee & coffee maker!) Nice to see you again, Holly. I'll try to steer some business down to you.
Thanks,
Colin

Jake & Holly,
Thank you so much for a great concert last night, it was the first time my wife and I have been there. To be up close and personal with Michael Martin Murphey was unbelievable! You made us feel very welcomed, we will be back again.

Thank you,
Lou & Rita, Waukon, Iowa

Just want you to know we thought last night's Memorial Day concert with Mei Ling was fantastic! They both put all their passion and energy into the performance.  Both, really authentic performers.
So glad we went last night!!
Carol and Tory Wilson, Rochester, MN

My wife and I were there last summer with a couple of other friends and enjoyed the camping and riding very much.  We have ridden Wetbark several times before but it is nice to have a good place like yours to camp.
Thanks so much!
Ken Olson - Pine Island

We had a great time Hollly, thank you!   We have only had our horses for awhile and that was our first camping/trail trip and it was wonderful.  Please keep us posted with any concerts/events that you guys have, we can't wait to come back!

 Hi Holly and Jake,
Just wanted to thank you again for a wonderful vacation at your facility.  Thank you for giving our group the "camping circle".  It worked out great.    The riding was very nice.  I hope you facility continues to do well. We really enjoyed Michael Martin Murphy.  Thanks for bringing in such a great performer. I hope it all paid off for you.   You have such huge hearts and big dreams.  I know that with your energy and caring hearts that GOD will be with you in your future ventures.   We look forward to our future rides with you.

Just wanted to extend a big thanks to Outback Ranch Inc. and its employees for hosting Infrasound Music Festival, it was a TON of fun and I appreciated you sharing your amazing Ranch/ Venue/ Home with a bunch of Animals like us for a few days.

Just got back from our trip.  Thank you very much for an enjoyable stay.  We really liked being off by ourselves in the “electric circle”.  Your place is so neat and clean.
   - Thanks again,  Ken & Lynn Olson

Rode Outback Ranch for the first time in May of 2012. Will go back! There's a water hydrant at entrance and water tanks throughout the camp. Nice tables & grills at sites. Free high ties.
Lots of well maintained shady trails with scenic overlooks. We had no problem turning onto their road with a 4H LQ trailer. (39').  With no vehicle & horse pass required this is a less expensive place to go.  Shower in main building and level parking. Holly, Jake & family are great, helpful, informative people. New Lower Prices!!!!!

"THANK YOU JAKE and HOLLY!!!! I felt the need to reinforce my gratitude for your kindness and hospitality this past weekend. Thank You also for your efforts to keep variety flowing through your business- by doing so you open the door for a great many more people to experience the beauty of your property and "horsepitality". Any one who has should consider themselves lucky. Any one who hasn't needs to! Take Care! "

"We really enjoyed your facility will definately be back! "

"Just a short note to say how much we enjoyed our vacation at Outback Ranch. Although the rain gave us a run for our money we loved your facility and wanted to say how much we appreciated your hospitatility. Thanks again for a wonderful time. "

"I just wanted to express our delight with Outback Entertainment. The DJ was wonderful and the night was awesome. I felt bad because there wasn't as much dancing as I would have hoped, and the crowd hung around in the bar, but it was not the DJ's fault. Stoney Creek had an issue with the A/C last night and the room was so hot, it was hard to get people dancing. We were so happy with everything, and your organization exceeded our expectations! I will recommend Outback Entertainment to anyone looking for entertainment. Thanks again!!"
    -- Joe and Gayle Dolle

"I just wanted to let you know how nice of a place you have there. We came up for the Wade Hayes concert and celebrated my birthday, it was an awesome night!! I have made sure i have been telling everyone about your place. Again you have a very nice place there. hope to be back for other events!!."
    -- DeAnn Michels

"I just wanted to say thanks for putting on such a wonderful event, I know you guys went through alot of work and that is very much appreciated. Thanks again and see you next year!! "

"Holly and Family, your great deeds go unnoticed! We want to "Thank-you" ever so much for the glorious experience at your ranch. What an awe-inspiring place to be. Your ranch reminded me of how grateful we (our family) is. Doing a fundraiser for St Judes is so very generous, as was making "mobile" Jesse's stay with all of you on Saterday. He had the best time riding around in that 4-wheeler. He loved "touristing" the ranch, and really feeling a part of being able to help out his horse team, by transporting supplies and people! Your generosity created a life-time of memories for us. Our small contribution with having Black Myth there was also enjoyable. Thank you again for everything. We had a very memorable experience. God Bless you always in everything you do - Thank you for Blessing us! Hugs to all"
-- Shelly Newberg & Jesse Larson

"The Caledonia Prom Committe and the Junior Class of 2009 would like to thank you for a wonderful Prom dance on behalf of you DJ service. You gave us a fun and memorable Prom. Thanks again."

" I belong to a group of about 120 trail riders form SE Minnesota. We get together every Wed for a day ride somewhere in the area from Red Wing to the Iowa border. They look forward to the ride here on the Out Back trails and the Wet State Forest. The trail system has whatever challenge you want from flat easy riding to some challenging terrain. The views are spectacular! "
    -- Dennis Eich

"I just wanted to give you an extra "THANK YOU" for all you did for us at Austin & Amber's reception! You did such a Wonderful - great job! So many people have commented to us - "What a show you put on!" You said it was going to be over the top - and it WAS! I appreciate all your time, effort and selfessness you put into everything!! May you reap a multitude of profitable business and health and happiness too! Thank you so much!!"

"Hello Wiesers! I was one of the staff who accompanied the clients from the ABLE group home in Houston to the Heidi Newfield concert yesterday. I just wanted to personally thank you for the wonderful accommodations that were provided to us. Immediately upon arriving we were pointed to where we could park our lift van without being blocked in or hassled. Your staff were incredibly helpful, making sure that we had everything we needed and helping us navigate around the ranch. We were personally shown to the "Meet and Greet" area by a member of your staff and taken right to the front of the line. While not necessary, it was very nice not to have to wait as sometimes our clients don't always have the best patience. The "Meet and Greet" was such an amazing opportunity for our clients and staff, I am sure it is something none of us will forget for quite some time (Ms. Newfield was incredibly friendly as well, greeting each by name and signing autographs and posing for pictures). Your generosity and good will are something that will not be forgotten (by ABLE, others in attendance, and the people of St. Jude)! The show was awesome! We were able to stand right by the stage so that all of our people could see and enjoy the show, which means so much to them and to us as staff. You, your establishment, and your staff deserve a HUGE standing ovation for all the wonderful things you have done. Not just anyone would go out of their way to make sure others have a good time, and you did, which means so much. Thank you and God bless! "

"Dear Holly and Jake: I am back to work and sitting at my desk. But my thoughts and heart are at Outback Ranch on the trails on my horse. Words cannot express how much I enjoyed this past weekend and my admiration for your beautiful facility and the hospitality I received there. Rest assured Calypso and I will return as soon as possible. I found it very interesting that my horse, who usually loads very easily, did not want to go into the trailer when we were preparing to leave. It took us over 20 minutes to get him in and when we finally got him in, his expression changed to one of discouragement. He did not accept any treats offered to him ( very unusual) and when we stopped in Rochester for gas I checked on him. He had a sad look in his eyes and had not touched the hay, apple or oat biscuit treats I had placed in his manger. I truly believe that he was as sorry to go as I was. I promised him that we would return but he gave me the cold shoulder when we arrived home as well. I know he is not ill, just grieving the end of a truly wonderful experience. Just like a kid who was forced by his parents to leave Disneyland and return home. It was his first adventure of that length and physical stamina. He proved himself well up to the task and I am so proud of him. Thanks for making this magical weekend a possibility for us. "

"On Friday morning a couple of friends and Pat and I headed for the Outback Ranch near Houston Minnesota for a weekend of camping and riding our horses. We have not been riding at this place before, but wanted to try it out for the future. It is about 125 miles from Baraboo and very well worth the trip. As you know, Friday was not a good day for driving anyplace, but we ventured on anyway. We were driving into a very cold and strong west wind and that caused us to use a couple of extra gallons of Diesel fuel. We left Baraboo at 10:00 AM and arrived at the Outback Ranch by about 12:30. We stopped in the office and met Holly Wieser and she checked us in. Holly and Jake Wieser purchased the place in 1997 and have made several upgrades to the facilities in the ensuing years. They are real horse people and both take part in team roping and various speed events. The facility has about anything you would need including an outdoor area, round pen, indoor arena, great trails that are well marked. They have enough trails so that anyone can pick out his or her trail according to their own skill and that of their animal. The facility is kept clean and well manicured. I just don’t understand why I didn’t hear about this place before last month. We did not go out riding on Friday because of the cold and windy conditions; however, we did spend the required time hovering around a nice hot campfire. We also managed to talk ourselves into going out to eat in Houston. We found a great restaurant that I believe is called The German Restaurant. We had various items off the menu including fish and brats. Everyone at our table commented on the good food at a reasonable price. So that is another reason to go up to the Outback Ranch. Finally on Saturday, we saddled up three horses and four mules and started up the side of the bluff on a trail. We rode up and down the trails for about 4 hours and then came in for some lunch. Later that afternoon, we took another hour-long ride and then came back and used the outdoor arena. The mule people put on quite a show for some of the other campers. They were challenging their mules to step on plastic tarps as they flapped in the wind and also took turns dragging a fence post that was tied to their saddle horns. Some of the people who watched this performance admitted that their own horses would not do as well and that they have gained respect for the mule species. We again sat around the campfire and ate hot soup and chili and snacked on a table full of side dishes. We told tales well into the night, and as the temperatures dropped into the 20’s we hovered closer and closer to the fire’s heat. Finally sometime past 10 PM most of us gave up and went into our campers, turned up the heat and fell fast asleep. Sunday morning was cold and clear frost covered everything in site. I made some coffee and joined the rest of the crew around a revitalized small campfire. We chatted about how much we liked the facility and that we would plan on using it again and possibly often. It seems to me that the Outback Ranch could become our monthly riding facility, or course that is if Jake and Holly allow us to come back. It is a very nice place that is close to home and offers trails that are both challenging and safe. We took a leisurely ride on Sunday morning, and then had to break camp and head home. We hated to leave this special place, as the sun was again peaking through, and the day promised to be warmer. The horses lost a pound or two on the trails, and we probably gained a pound or two around the campfire. Maybe that evens out in the end. "

"Jake & Holly We were at your place last weekend, and we wanted to let you know what a great time we had. Your facilities are first rate and make it a pleasure to stay there. In fact, we can't wait to come back. Thanks "

"Holly and Jake- Just wanted to let you know how much we enjoyed our time at Outback. Your facilities are beautiful and the trails are wonderful. We had lots of fun. We can’t wait to come back again next year. We also couldn’t have asked for better weather! Thanks too for the roping lessons, I’ve been trying to practice! Until next year, "

    "Jake and Holly,
Thanks so much for a great weekend. Except for the hot weather (whew!), everything was perfect. The trails are awesome, and your place is beautiful, clean, and very horse-friendly. We appreciated you letting us use the horseshoe electrical sites --- it worked out perfect for our little group. We had a blast, and we'd love to come back next year. "

" Dick and I returned Sat. (late afternoon) after a wonderful week at the Outback Ranch in Houston, Mn.. As always Jake and Holly (owner/managers) welcomed us with open arms and great hospitality. We had the most beautiful site, ample in size and with electric accomodations. The porta-potty was just a short walk away and our horses enjoyed thier freedom in a very nicely fenced/well-maintained pasture just a few steps from our site. Water was supplied right next to the fence for us to water our horses with, things could not have been handier. We rode all 6 days that we were there, had a little rain-storm on Thurs. and we got wet, but it was just all taken in stride. The trails are absolutely beautiful and well maintained. Jake and Holly are such GREAT host and hostess, they took us on 4-wheeler ride and showed us some new trails, etc. They now have an ice machine on site which makes it so nice, so you don't have to run to town when the coolers need to be maintained. For any of you interested in checking them out, go to www.outbackranch.net and you can find any info that you may need. We WILL keep going back,it's a wonderful place. Thank you for another wonderful week full of pleasant memories. You guys are the BEST!! We love all of you like family!! -- Always friends and customers!! "
    -- Dick & Shirly Wiegel / 2005

" I just wanted to drop you a note and tell you how pleased we were in the way you treated us this last weekend. You guys bent over backwords to please our Midwest Trailgaiters group and you showed appreciation to us for coming to your place of business and we all really enjoyed our stay and I am sure as a group will will be back. It was said many times by many people around the fire Saturday night. I know my wife and I will be back as we really fell in love with riding there and appricated how you care about your customers. Once again I wish to thank you for treating us so warmly and cadering to our every need !!!!!!!!! "

"I have been to the Outback Ranch twice with some of my girlfriends ( there's nothing quite like good girlfriends). We rented the cabin and our horses were stalled in the barn. All of the accomodations were terrific. We made some gourmet meals and had shelter in the event of bad weather (although we never had any).We had fires and sat on the porch waxing poetic due to the wine we drank.
The trails are very fun and there are plenty of them so there is alot of exploring. Some are preety steep so make sure you have a good saddle pad or you could end up on your horses neck haha.
Jake and Holly are great hosts and made sure we had whatever we needed. Thanks!"
-- Stacy Sinner and Terri Mettler

"Last September of 2004 several girlfriends and I spent one of the greatest time we've had at the Outback Ranch.I cannot think of a single thing that was wrong with our stay.Holly was great with making our arrangements to stay. The barn was immaculate. And it made us feel great about leaving the horses there. Both Jake and Holly make wonderful hosts.
The cabin was absolutely wonderful.Way more than we expected.Plenty of places to ride with breath taking scenery(lots of hills). We all where so taken with the place that we quickly made reservations for the next year. And we are already counting the days.
Thanks Jake and Holly for wonderful memories and we look forward to our next stay."
    -- Cindy Yennie--Yennie Stables

"We had so much fun at the Outback Ranch even though we were only there one night. The log cabin is wonderful to stay in.Jake & Holly were so helpful boarding our show horse and letting us put our not-quite watertight trailer inside for the night. We would recommend a stay at the Outback Ranch to anyone!"
    -- Lynne Fisher

"The Outback Ranch is situated close to us,therefore we have the opportunity to use the trials almost weekly when the weather cooperates. We have stayed in the parking areas, used the stalls, utilized both of the arenas and we absolutely love the trials. The hills surrounding the ranch are absolutly beautiful and they make really nice riding.Jake has cut in some trails that are really nice and wide and two can ride side by side and there are trials that test the rider and the horse, but pretty much remain safe. You can ride for the whole day and not ride the same trail twice. We like to use the indoor arena in the winter to start our young horses and of course there are always events going on in the summer to participate in or just to watch in the large arena.Jake & Holly are great hosts, they are around if you need them, otherwise you don't see them.If you are looking to ride in Paradise and meet some nice people, then the Outback is the place to go. "
    -- Sheila--Broken Rail Stables

    "To trailriders everywhere,
My husband Dick and myself have been traveling with our horses and trailriding for about the last eight years. We have not been out of the state of Wisconsin except for three times. Dick is a truck driver by profession, so when he is on vacation he doesn't like to spend it driving.
About 3 yrs. ago I had the privelege to attend a seminar by Elizabeth Graves in Madison, Wi. She was teaching us about "Gaits" of our different gaited breeds and she was good at what she taught and very personable. I was determined to take private lessons from Liz someday. We have a good friend who had recommended Liz and she e-mailed me stating that Liz had moved much closer to us and is now living and teaching lessons and training at the Outback Ranch in Houston, Min. Well, we found a "little piece of heaven" at the Outback Ranch. We made reservations to stay and train with Liz, and ride their trails in May, 2004. It was absolutely WONDERFUL!! The hospitality from Jake and Holly Wieser and family can't be beat. They greeted us like they had known us forever on the night that we pulled in. Jake told us to just take whatever parking spot we wanted and said there would not be to many other people there during that week. The parking sites are nice, level and offer electrical. They all have a picnic table, and picket poles for your horses. There is a large fire-ring if you are like us and enjoy camp-fires in the evening. There is water available for drinking and watering horses. Trail access is in almost any direction and they are beautiful, well-maintained and marked well. Jake and Holly are just getting this operation going -- they have a beautiful indoor arena, brand new horse barn for boarders/guest horses, and a very large outdoor arena with any and all amenitie that you can wish for as far as the horses go.
We took our lessons with Liz on our two Missouri Fox Trotters and then would ride the trails in the afternoons. Jake and Liz even went out trailriding with us one day and gave us a guided tour -- we had such a great time that we returned there two weeks ago for another 4 days of riding. It is a GREAT place, down a long driveway and in a beautiful valley with lots of personality all it's own. If you are looking for something peaceful and want to feel close to God, be sure to visit the Outback Ranch in Houston, Minn. Like I said before we think that we have found "A Little Piece of Heaven". To contact them, go to www.outbackranch.net If you send them an e-mail, one of them will get back to you right away and you will never find nicer people, a brilliant young couple working to bring true enjoyment to all of us who love our horses. Thanks Jake and Holly for making two of our vacations in 2004 wonderful memories for us."
