26 Electrical Sites, Primitive Horse Trailer Sites, and Tenting Areas 

*All Sites come with a Free trail (Not MN State Trail Passes) & vehicle pass, Round Pen Use & Outdoor Riding Arena 

* On Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day, and any other special event weekend such as weddings, music festivals, etc..., all reservations must be PAID IN FULL at the time of booking them, and there are no refunds if you cancel.

 *All other reservations require 1/2 down to book; there are no refunds if you cancel.

Deposits are not refundable and not transferable.

If your site is not canceled 14 days before your arrival, you will be charged for the other half.

 All sites are from Noon to Noon. 

Coggins are required on all horses and health papers are only required if you are coming from any other state other than MN, WI, or IA.

Per Day Parking Pass $15 per horse 

For those that are not lodging at the Outback, you can park for the day for $15 a day per horse (must bring your own horse; we DO NOT rent out horses). The parking pass fee is for parking only; there is no charge to ride the trails or ride in the outdoor arena. Please pay upon arrival and pick up your free trail pass. 

If you will be riding in the State Park, you will need the MN State Trail Pass, which can be obtained at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/horseback_riding/horsepass.htm

Electrical Site $42 per site per day

 All of our electrical sites offer 110- and 30-amp hookups. Sites 18–23 also include 50-amp service, with a community water hydrant conveniently located near Site 20.


Water for both campers and horses is available nearby, and several hydrants are located throughout the ranch for filling trailers and accessing potable water. While we do not currently offer full water and sewer hookups, each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring for your comfort. Porta potties are available in each section of the campground.


Bringing horses? We welcome them at $15 per horse, per night. We provide high-line tie areas, individual pens and pastures and designated spaces for portable fencing.


Please note: For the comfort of all guests, we do not allow horses to be tied to trailers overnight or portable fencing to be set up directly on campsites.


Adding a tent to your site is $15 per night.


Holiday weekends require a three-night minimum stay, with full payment due at the time of booking.

Primitive Camping $32 per site per day

 Water for both campers and horses is available nearby, and several hydrants are located throughout the ranch for filling trailers and accessing potable water. Each campsite includes a picnic table and fire ring for your comfort. Porta potties are available in each section of the campground.


Bringing horses? We welcome them at $15 per horse, per night. We provide high-line tie areas, individual pens and pastures and designated spaces for portable fencing.

Generators can only be used from 9 am - 9 pm. If you need electricity for a medical devise, phones or ect.. please book an electrical campsite.

Horse Stalls with Run Outs $25 per horse per day 

Feed and bedding are NOT included. Each stall must have a minimum of 3 bags of bedding, which can be purchased from us for $8.17, or you can also bring your own. There is one horse per stall, for a total of three stalls. **All stalls must be cleaned daily, or there will be a $10 per stall per day charge.

Horse Pens

10x10 Outdoor pens - 1 horse per pen. There are a total of 14 pens.

Eight pens are located near sites 1-8 and Six pens are located below the Moring Ridge Cabin.

 **All pens must be cleaned daily, or there will be a $15 per pen per day charge.

Horse Pastures

25 pastures are available, located near the primitive sites, electric sites, and cabins. These small- to medium-sized, fenced grassy areas give horses a comfortable space of their own.

Each pasture is enclosed with a 5-strand smooth wire fence, so your horses can relax close to the comforts of home.

**Please clean out any excess hay or manure before you leave.**

Firewood is available for $7 a bundle. Yes, you can bring your own, but that's a hassle, so we will make it available here at a nominal cost and deliver it right to your site. If you bring your own wood, please make sure it does not have nails in it. 


Outback Ranch provides poles to high line tie and room to set a few portable corrals in designated areas only. Please note: We do not allow tying to your trailer overnight due to our campground is used for weddings, festivals and etc. 


The trails are well accommodating for young and old horses with some being more advanced than others. All trails are mowed and well-groomed with very few being rocky.


You will be riding on private property. Please stay on the trail and take out all that you take in. Please help us keep the trails clean to preserve all of our trail privileges here in Minnesota.


Dump stations are available at the Love's Gas Station in St. Charles, MN, and the Waukon City Park in Waukon, IA. 


Please treat all trails with respect. We do not charge to ride the trails or for trail passes, and we are not liable for any accidents. Ride at your own risk. Trail passes are required to ride on all the trails. 


You do need an MN State Trail Pass to ride in the state park. They can be purchased online at http://www.dnr.state.mn.us/horseback_riding/horsepass.html


Dogs are allowed, please kept them on a leash and or under adult supervision. We ask that all manure and garbage is cleaned up daily.


Quiet time is 11 p.m. to 6 a.m.
